Saddle Series Story
The Wickenburg Saddle Club Saddle Series grew from an earlier buckle series and was inspired by Kelli Jones-Taylor's Hillside Stampede Saddle Series, where Dorinda and her daughter competed for several years. When Kelli stopped hosting her series, Dorinda brought the idea to WSC with Kelli's blessing. What started small and took a few years to find its footing has continued to grow and is now entering its 11th year.
From the beginning, the goal has been to give riders of all ages and experience levels a fun, welcoming place to compete, practice, build confidence, and prepare for larger competitions. With rules modeled after organizations such as AJRA and high school rodeo, riders can learn and grow while enjoying some friendly competition along the way. Whether you're just getting started or looking for more time in the arena, we invite you to saddle up, join us, and become part of the tradition!
